Skeggy 2 Syston
On 9th April 3 members of Wreake Valley S.N.U set off on a bike ride from Skegness to Syston, covering 78 miles.

(Marc, Chris & Luke ready to set off)
The reason behind the ride was to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support, through 2 of the members work @ Somerfield Syston.
The lads used this opportunity to cover miles for their 100 miles sponsored event.

(Chris taking advantage of the nice weather)
Unfortunately Luke & Marc did not complete the 78 miles, but gave Chris all their support to complete the ride.
When Chris arrived back @ Somerfield Syston, the overall time he took to complete the ride was 7 hours 49 Minutes and 57.76 Seconds.

(Chris taking a nice break back @ Somerfield Syston)
Well done to Chris for completing the ride.
Tom Walker Walk
Tom Walker (17) has played rugby for Loughborough from the age of seven through to the under sixteen's
Tom has been diagnosed with osteosarcoma in his right humerus and shoulder joint.
Loughborough RFC have been carrying out a series of events to raise money for Tom, his family and nominated teenage charities.
On Sunday 3rd December, 45 friends and family of Tom Walker made the start of a 26 mile walk around Rutland Water. At 7am the walking party set off from the village of Manton in darkness and with a drizzle of rain failing to dampen spirits.
The Wreake Valley Scout Network Unit, helped out on the bye providing the walkers with refreshments during the day. Refreshments such as Bacon sandwiches, Soup, Tea, Coffee, Hot Dogs & Juice.

The members of the unit, decided that they would pay for all the costs of the refreshments out of there own pockets, as a form of sponsorship.
